Review: Between the Raven and the Dove

During the London Book Fair I walked around a lot and spoke to many publishers. Accent press was one of them. They were lovely and I received a Between the Raven and the Dove ARC. The cover drew me in, because it looked kind of witchy. I love witchy stuff, so I was really excited to read it.

YALFest interview: Megan Shepherd part 2

During my time in the Netherlands I was invited to the YALFest Pre-party to interview Megan Shepherd, author of The Cage series. I read The Cage and The Hunt as soon as they came out and really liked them, so I was happy to interview her. Together with my friend Thyrze from Infinite Stories, we asked many questions regarding her life and her books.

Event: The Ultimate Geek Party

A few weeks ago I got an invite to come to the Ultimate Geek Party. This was a party to celebrate the release of the last book in the Geek Girl series: Forever Geek by Holly Smale. Last week on Saturday it was finally time to party. It was really fun and I met some new people. I was also allowed to ask Holly some questions.

Review: Caraval (Caraval #1)

As I mentioned in the previous post, I won an ARC of Caraval at YALC last summer with my friend. It still took me a while to start in the book. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I couldn’t get to it. Two weeks ago I got a final copy in the mail. It is super beautiful! I got the one with a clock on it and I’m really happy. Thank you Hoddor & Stoughton.

Event: Dark Societies: an evening with Stephanie Garber and Katherine Webber

Monday evening it was finally time for the Dark Societies event at Waterstones Piccadilly. I’d won Caraval at YALC this summer by doing a cheer with a friend of mine, but it took a while for me to actually get to the book. Once I started though, I couldn’t stop. I was very excited to meet both ladies. Katherine was very nice a couple of weeks ago at another event and I couldn’t wait to hear more about Caraval from Stephanie.

Review: The Crown’s Dog (Golden Guard #1)

9200000070213695-1

I was so happy when Elise told us about the fact that she was writing prequels to Air Awakens. Unfortunately, not the sequel that I wanted, but still I’d get to read more about this amazing world that she created. Also, more Baldair, Jax and Erion. YES! I was even happier when I received the ARC. She dedicated this book to the Tower Guard, so sweet.

I received this book from the author but all of my ideas and opinions are my own.

Review: Crystal Crowned (Air Awakens #5)

image-1-1

For Crystal Crowned I received an e-ARC and I was so happy when I received it! I remember coming home and seeing the email. I did not have to wait for the physical copy like with Water’s Wrath, so I could start immediately. Which I did and I stayed up until about 4/5, but unfortunately I still had to do some things the next day, so I couldn’t finish it. After I came home the next day though, I sat down and finished it. My god… I was really tired, but on the one hand I was really happy, on the other hand I was really sad. It was over.

I received this book from the author but all of my ideas and opinions are my own.

Review: The Alchemist of Loom (Loom Saga #1)

I was really happy when Elise announced her new series and even more happy when I was allowed to participate in the blog tour by Expresso.

The Alchemist of Loom was said to be an epic high fantasy and it has certainly not disappointed me.

I received this book from the publisher but all of my ideas and opinions are my own.
